This bodacious portable washing machine review focuses on the BODACIOUS 1.7 Cu. Ft. Gray Portable Washer. It is a compact unit designed for small spaces. The two defining specs are its 1.7 cubic foot capacity and its built-in drain pump. These features allow it to handle moderate loads without needing permanent plumbing. You get a stainless steel drum and a quiet 55 dB operation. The machine measures 19.7 inches wide and 33.7 inches tall. It weighs 43 pounds, making it movable. This spec-based look explains what the listing says about performance and setup.
What stands out
- Built-in drain pump allows for easy water removal without manual draining.
- Stainless steel drum offers durability and resists rust over time.
- 1.7 cu. ft. capacity handles small to medium laundry loads.
- Runs at 55 dB for quiet operation in apartments or bedrooms.
- 24-minute Quick Wash cycle refreshes lightly soiled clothes rapidly.
Who it fits
Good fit for
This washer suits renters and apartment dwellers who need a compact appliance. The built-in drain pump makes it ideal for spaces without dedicated laundry hookups. You will appreciate the 1.7 cu. ft. capacity if you wash small batches frequently. The quiet 55 dB motor is perfect for nighttime use or shared walls. Its small footprint, measuring 19.7 inches wide, fits easily in closets or bathrooms. If you want a simple, no-plumbing-required solution, this model fits your setup.
Who should skip it
You should look at another option if you need to wash large families' clothes at once. The 1.7 cu. ft. capacity is too small for bulky items like comforters. If you prefer a larger drum for heavy loads, this compact unit will feel limiting. The manual spin function may not dry clothes as thoroughly as a full dryer. Also, if you need smart home integration or an app, this basic model lacks those features. It is best for small, frequent loads rather than big weekly hauls.
Verdict: The BODACIOUS 1.7 Cu. Ft. Gray Portable Washer is a practical choice for small spaces thanks to its drain pump and compact size. It delivers quiet, efficient cleaning for light to moderate loads without requiring permanent plumbing.
Key specs explained for this washer
Capacity: 1.7 cu. ft.
This volume determines how much laundry fits in one cycle. You can wash medium loads like sheets or several shirts at once. It suits singles, couples, or small households with limited storage. Larger units hold more but take up more floor space. Choose this size if you need a balance between capacity and compact footprint for apartments or dorms.
Drain Pump: Built-in drain pump
A built-in pump pushes wastewater out through a hose rather than relying on gravity. This allows you to drain the machine into a sink, bathtub, or bucket without placing it on a slope. It adds flexibility for placement in bathrooms or bedrooms where floor drains are absent. Compare this to gravity-only models that require specific positioning for proper drainage.
Tub Material: Stainless steel
The drum interior is made of stainless steel, which resists rust and corrosion from constant water exposure. This material is durable and easier to clean than plastic tubs, which can harbor mold or odors over time. It supports long-term hygiene and structural integrity. When shopping, verify the tub material to ensure you get a drum that withstands frequent wet cycles without degrading.
Weight: 43 pounds
This weight indicates the unit is relatively light for a full-size appliance but substantial enough to stay stable during spin cycles. You can move it with effort, but it is not designed for frequent relocation. Heavier units often vibrate less. This weight suits users who need a portable option that remains secure on flat surfaces without requiring permanent installation or heavy anchoring.
Design and Build Specs
The listing describes the BODACIOUS washer as a gray unit with a stainless steel drum. This material choice matters for durability. Stainless steel resists rust and handles heavy loads better than plastic tubs. You can expect the interior to withstand regular use without degrading quickly. The exterior finish is a simple gray plastic shell that keeps the look neutral for any room.
Size and weight are critical for portable units. This model measures 19.7 inches wide, 19.7 inches deep, and 33.7 inches tall. It weighs 43 pounds. These dimensions fit into most apartment closets or bathroom corners. The weight suggests it is sturdy but manageable for one person to move when needed. You can roll it on its base if the model includes casters, though the listing does not explicitly confirm wheels.
The layout prioritizes function over complexity. It features a standard faucet adapter for quick setup in under three minutes. You do not need permanent plumbing connections. The control panel likely sits on top for easy access. A child lock is included for safety. The built-in drain pump allows you to push water out without manual lifting. This design makes it suitable for renters who move frequently or live in spaces with limited utility hookups.
Setup and everyday use guide
You can set up this BODACIOUS portable washer in under three minutes. The process relies on a standard faucet adapter rather than permanent plumbing. This means you do not need to install new pipes or hire a professional. You simply attach the provided adapter to your sink or tub faucet. The unit includes a built-in drain pump, which allows you to push water out without tilting the machine. This feature simplifies emptying the tub after each cycle.
Daily operation is straightforward. You load items into the 1.7 cubic foot stainless steel drum. The control panel lets you select from various wash modes. The 24-minute Quick Wash cycle is useful for refreshing lightly worn clothes. For deeper cleaning, the 360-degree Waterfall Circulation ensures water reaches all fabric surfaces. The Auto-Balancing system keeps the drum steady during high-speed spinning, reducing vibration.
Noise levels are listed at 55 dB. This quiet operation makes it suitable for apartments or nighttime use without disturbing others. The Child Lock feature prevents accidental changes to settings, adding a layer of safety for households with kids. After washing, the high-speed air spin helps remove excess moisture, leaving clothes damp rather than soaking wet. The Self-Clean mode helps maintain the drum hygiene without extra effort. You can also use the Water Recycle mode to reuse rinse water for hand-washing delicates, which supports water conservation.
Before You Buy This Washer
Owning this unit requires a few practical considerations. Its 19.7-inch width and 19.7-inch depth fit most standard laundry areas, but you must verify your space allows for the 33.7-inch height. The built-in drain pump is a significant advantage, allowing you to eject water into a sink or bucket without tilting the heavy 43-pound machine. You will need a standard faucet adapter for the inlet, which the listing confirms is included. Regular maintenance involves using the self-cleaning mode to prevent odors, as the stainless steel drum does not trap lint like plastic. This model sits among 1 other portable washers by prioritizing drainage ease over sheer capacity. Unlike larger units, it suits small loads. Check your power outlet location, as the cord length is not specified. Ensure your floor can support the weight during the spin cycle. The quiet 55 dB operation makes it suitable for apartments where noise matters. You should also consider the water recycle feature if you want to minimize usage.
Check before you buy
- Verify your space fits the 33.7-inch height and 19.7-inch width.
- Confirm you have a standard faucet for the included adapter.
- Ensure your floor can support the 43-pound weight during spin.
