How to choose the right one
-
Check the drain pump
You need a drain pump if your portable washer sits in a location without a floor drain. This feature pushes water out through a hose, allowing you to empty the tub manually. Both models in this guide include a drain pump. This means you can place the unit on a bathroom counter or in a closet without worrying about standing water. Verify this spec if you plan to move the machine frequently or lack permanent plumbing access.
-
Review wash programs
Look for the number of wash programs to match your fabric needs. The F.W.WOOLWORTHS models offer ten distinct programs. This variety lets you adjust cycles for delicates, heavy loads, or quick rinses. More programs provide better control over water usage and agitation intensity. If you wash mixed fabrics, ten options cover most household tasks. Check the program list to ensure it includes settings for the specific items you wash most often.
-
Consider the display type
Decide if you prefer an LED display for clear status updates. One model in this lineup features an LED display. This screen shows cycle progress and error codes clearly. It helps you monitor the wash without guessing. If you value visual feedback during operation, choose the unit with the display. It adds clarity to the fully automatic process. The other model may lack this specific visual aid, so check the attributes list carefully before buying.
-
Measure your space
Confirm your available footprint matches the unit dimensions. Both machines measure 20 by 34 inches. This compact size fits in small apartments, dorms, and RVs. You must ensure your space is at least this wide and tall. Measure the area where you plan to place the washer. The consistent 20 by 34 inch footprint across models makes swapping easy. Always leave a few inches of clearance for ventilation and hose routing.
-
Verify capacity limits
Check the weight capacity to avoid overloading. Both models hold 17.7 lbs of laundry. This capacity suits small loads, such as a week of clothes for one person. Overloading can damage the motor or reduce cleaning efficiency. Use this limit to plan your wash cycles. If you have a larger family, you may need to wash more frequently. The 17.7 lbs limit is ideal for singles or couples in tight spaces.
